Silwood Street, Bermondsey – Multi-Element Roofing & Terrace Installation

2,500m² of expertly delivered waterproofing and finishes

This complex 2,500m² roofing and terrace project in Bermondsey showcased A J Lucas Roofing’s versatility and precision across multiple roof types—including a main roof, expansive terraces, and eight floor-level balconies.

Works began with the application of IKO’s high-performance primer to all flat areas, followed by the installation of IKO Permatec-R60 G polyester reinforcement sheets across roof areas, upstands, rooflights, lift shafts, and outlets. Multiple layers of Permatec-R were then applied, completed with a 180G polyester-based bitumen membrane as a durable protection layer.

The main roof and terrace areas were finished with a visually appealing combination of sedum green roof blanket, artificial lawn, and paving slabs—offering both environmental benefits and usable outdoor space.

Balconies were prepared using a SIGnature Ultra Protect base layer, then overlaid with paving slabs on 15mm paving pad supports. Edge details were completed with clean, decorative washed pebbles, delivering a sleek and practical finish.
