Maude Pavilion Roofing Project – Nursery & Canopy Roofs

Delivered for New Romney Town Council

We recently completed a two-phase roofing project at the public sports centre in New Romney, working closely with the Town Council to enhance both functionality and sustainability.

Phase 1: Nursery Roof (350m²)
This phase involved the installation of a high-performance warm roof system. We bonded 140mm rigid insulation to the main flat roof areas and 50mm to the upstands using SIGnature PU adhesive, ensuring excellent thermal performance. A durable SIGnature underlay was applied across all surfaces and detailed areas, followed by the installation of a SIGnature B Roof T4 fire-rated cap sheet—offering outstanding protection and long-term reliability.

Phase 2: Pavilion & Canopy Roof (120m²)
For the second stage, we installed a tapered insulation system for effective drainage, along with 50mm rigid insulation to upstands. The roofing membrane of choice was the IKO Armourplan PSG fleece-backed PVC system, expertly fitted to all flat areas, edge trims, upstands, and outlets. To complete the build, we installed a sedum blanket green roof—introducing a natural, environmentally-friendly finish that enhances biodiversity and visual appeal.

With high-spec materials and careful attention to detail throughout, this project delivered a modern, energy-efficient roofing solution designed to stand the test of time.
